The UF admissions office says, “Few students are admitted purely on academics.” UF conducts a thorough, all-encompassing application review that considers personal essays, background information, awards, academics, the applicant’s family and neighbourhood, and the primary consideration, the likelihood of academic success. Class rank, place of residence, ties to the alumni community, and level of expressed interest are all “considered” factors. Standardized test results and work history are all “important” considerations. UF views many factors as “very important” to the admissions process.
